Eastgate House, Rochester

Spent the afternoon at the fascinating but rather puzzling Eastgate House in Rochester, Kent. Wonderful panelling and remains of wall painting (c.1590) and plasterwork ceilings (c.1620s) including some saucy imagery in the ceiling in the bed chamber. Anyway, lots to think about. Many thanks to Christine for arranging the visit and Tracy for showing us around.

Any ideas about the symbolism of this character?
